hula grill

Today is a pretty special day. No, it’s not my birthday nor is it our anniversary. But it is a Sunday – and I’m off! This never happens. To say that I am excited would be an understatement. I know some of you are reading this and thinking “so what, you are off on a Sunday, big deal”. But like I said before, this never happens and I’m feeling like a “real” person (haha)

So I did what any “real” person does on any given Sunday – I went to brunch ! After a few quick errands that we needed to take care of, Alex and I headed to Waikiki to have brunch at Hula Grill which was a first for both of us.

We pulled up to the Outrigger hotel, valeted the truck and made our way upstairs. We were quickly seated with an awesome view of the (rather flat) ocean and Diamond Head.

Alex ordered the kalua pork hash and I went with the crab & spinach omelette.

I love spending sweet mornings with my husband. Pair that with breakfast, which is easily my favorite meal of the day, and you have one happy lady.

work in progress

Starting a business, building a website and trying to come up with regular blog content is no joke.

We’ve been busy here at the Byrd house. But it’s a good busy, an exciting busy. Since our official launch last month, I have sat down at my desk countless times to write that “perfect” first blog post only to change my mind halfway through or to second-guess my chosen topic. And then yesterday I came across an article that said the only way to get your blog started is to just start – which makes so much sense it’s almost silly.

I’m going to make an honest attempt to worry less about my chosen topics, my writing style, the blog layout, my punctuation and my grammar. Instead, I will share my thoughts with my readers. (you are out there somewhere, right?) Of course there is still a lot to be done, and countless revisions to be made. But for now, this is what I have. And it’s time to start.

So as I sit here drinking my pink moscato, I raise my vintage floral wine glass to you. Thanks for joining me on this adventure from the beginning.
